DECIDE Final Event in Brussels concludes five years of progress: from insights to implementation

On 10 June 2026, the DECIDE consortium gathered at the University Foundation in Brussels for the project’s Final Event, “From Insights to Implementation”. Around 70 participants from across Europe joined the event, including researchers from different disciplines, veterinarians, animal health authorities, industry representatives and knowledge transfer organisations.

DECIDE showcases impact and innovation at SVEPM 2026 in London

The DECIDE project had a strong and visible presence at the Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (SVEPM) Conference 2026, held on 25 – 27 March in London, UK. With around 300 participants, this year’s edition marked a record attendance and provided an important platform for scientific exchange, collaboration and innovation in veterinary epidemiology. DECIDE partners contributed through poster and oral presentations and a dedicated workshop, demonstrating the project’s progress in developing data-driven decision-support tools for animal health and their pathway towards practical implementation.

New publication: Advancing livestock disease surveillance through ontologies

A recent publication from the DECIDE project published in Smart Agricultural Technology provides a focused assessment of how livestock disease surveillance can be improved through better data integration and the use of ontologies. With infectious diseases continuing to affect both terrestrial and aquatic livestock systems, the need for interoperable and scalable surveillance solutions is increasingly critical.
