“Advanced Health Management in Salmon Farming: Data, tools and economic impact” – is the title of the fifth edition of the GBADs and DECIDE seminar series hosted by Dr. Annette Boerlage (SRUC) and Dr. Cecilie S. Walde (NVI) which took place on Wednesday, 10 July 2024. Watch the recording below:
Dr. Cecile Walde from the Norwegian Veterinary Institute kicked off the seminar with her presentation on “The Biological and Economic Impact of Delousing Farmed Atlantic Salmon in Norway.” This engaging topic set the stage for a lively discussion following the presentations.
Next, Dr. Annette Boerlage of Scotland’s Rural College shared her insights with “Advanced Health Management in Salmon Farming: Data, Tools, and Economic Impact.” Her talk seamlessly connected with Dr. Walde’s, further enriching the conversation and suggesting future directions during the seminar’s conclusion.
The final presentation featured Anne Meyer from Episystemic and the University of Liverpool, who delivered a flash talk titled “First Pass at Quantifying the All-Cause Disease Burden Borne by Shrimp Grow-Out Farmers in Indonesia.” This presentation built on a workshop Anne coordinated in Indonesia in May 2024, adding valuable insights to the seminar series.
We extend our gratitude to Cecile, Annette, and Anne for their excellent presentations and contributions to the consortium.
