DECIDE General Assembly meeting in Nantes, France

On June 25-27, a DECIDE General Assembly (GA) meeting took place in Nantes, France, bringing together more than 60 participants. This event was kindly hosted by the Institut National de Recherche pour l’Agriculture, l’Alimentation et l’Environnement (INRAE) partner.

The meeting began with an opening statement and a progress overview from the project coordinator Gerdien van Schaik from Utrecht University. The main goal of the GA was to facilitate discussions on the progress and future of the tools developed within DECIDE, to this end, the highlight of the first day was the interactive round table sessions for the tool developers. During these sessions, participants discussed opportunities for their tools in parallel sessions for each species – pigs, cattle, poultry, and salmon, in front of posters that have been prepared in advance on each of the tools. The discussion results of these sessions were then presented on day two of the meeting. The evening concluded with a networking dinner, allowing participants to further discuss ideas and collaborate in a more informal setting.

Day two continued with presentations from each Work Package to update the consortium on the latest progress and to outline the next steps. The meeting concluded with the establishment of an action plan for the upcoming months and closing remarks from the project coordinator, Gerdien van Schaik. The next consortium meeting is planned to be hosted online.
